Rid Your House of Flies

No matter where you are in the world, whether it be at home or work, inside or outside chances are you have or will encounter flies. They can cause a real issue, particularly is they are left you populate your space in large numbers. Flies are downright annoying, landing on food, landing on you and leaving a mess on ceilings and walls. Some flies can even transfer diseases like salmonella and dysentery, out of the thousands of fly species it is the common house fly that is one of the main culprits. For this reason it is important to know about pest management and how to prevent flies from entering your home or work space.


Take note of the following tips to reduce the risk of fly trouble

  • Keep windows and doors closed at night, they are often attracted to the light
  • Use fly screens on your windows and doors, you can have ventilation without flies inviting themselves in
  • Keep kitchen areas clean
  • Keep you appliances clean, crumb in toasters and food splattered microwaves attract flies
  • Ensure your rubbish bins have lids and are kept lined and clean
  • Invest in a covered compost bin
  • I Keep all food covered, if a fly lands on your food do not eat it
  • If you have pets, clean up after them. Flies are attracted to feaces and more often than not they will land on it before landing on your sandwich - hence the previous tip
  • Keep fly swats, fly spray or automatic dispensers around your home
  • If you notice flies around your drains outside, treat them with bleach
  • Keep outside rubbish in a wheelie bin with lid

They will be able to rid your home or work of flies, reduce the chance of future infestations and do so with the safety of your family and pets in mind. They will also eradicate other pesky insects giving you a healthier, happier home or work environment. Be sure to only employ the help of a well-known and reputable technician that is qualified to use insecticides. These strong chemicals will be used for interior and exterior surface treatment.
